Chris Mark Castle in Woodstock, Connecticut is an extravagant private home in the style of a gothic castle.
Owned by entrepreneur Christopher Mark, a descendant of the legendary steel pioneer, Clayton Mark, the castle is available for some commercial uses – by direct request to the owner (click to make contact via the Chris Mark Castle website). As the castle's website site explains, the owner is “curating a stage of opportunity for artists to collaborate with other creatives to showcase their skills in multimedia collaborations“.
The castle's architectural elements include two stone bridges, towering turrets, stone pathways and a deep moat that surrounds the estate. With views over Potter Pond and a lavish interior (which includes a recording studio), the Chris Mark Castle is one of the most impressive castle-like residences in North America.
