The Grand Castle in Grandville, Michigan is an extraordinary 522 apartment building, resembling an enormous castle with towers, turrets, crenellations and conical roofs. The development includes a “15-story tower with spectacular views”.
Said to have been inspired by the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany (which The Grand Castle's owner/developer Roger Lucas was known to admire), the property is thought to cover over 1,000,000 sq ft and has been described as the second largest castle structure in the world (source Wikipedia).
Construction on the castle's site began in 2016, with the property now complete and offering residents a range of amenities including a swimming pool, clubhouse, gym, library, dog park and lake access. Clearly visible from the I-196 and other local roads, the castle is a sight to behold in the unlikely setting of western Michigan (see Streetview below).
