Sam's Castle in Pacifica, California was built in 1908 by Sam Mazza. The castle is a stone building with castle-like features including crenellations on both the castle itself and the perimeter wall.
The property is now home to the Sam Mazza Foundation – “a private philanthropic foundation established by the estate of our founder Sam Mazza in October of 2005. Since its inception the foundation has granted $7 million dollars to qualified §501 (c)(3) organizations who work to improve their communities through the arts, education, or addressing quality of life concerns” – Sam Mazza Foundation Website
Whilst dedicated to the work of the foundation, the castle does open its doors to the public once a month for castle tours.
