Bull Run Castle in Virginia is a well-known private residence resembling a medieval-style castle. Built in the 1980's by John Roswell Miller, the castle sits alongside (although is only partially visible from) U.S. 15.
The castle occasionally hosts multi-family yard sales (as promoted on their Facebook page below) but is otherwise closed to the public.
