Amazing American Castles to Visit for Halloween 2022

Halloween Festival at Muskogee Castle, Oklahoma

Truly embracing this time of year, Muskogee Castle's Halloween Festival lasts a full month – from Sept 30 – Oct 29. 

Open each Friday & Saturday during that period, the castle's gates will be open from 5:30pm until 10pm.  As the castle's website explains, 'Outdoor Haunts begin at dark & indoor haunts open after the Monster Dance at 6pm'.   

Spread across the 14 acre Castleton Village, there's something for everyone young and old from Haunted Tractor Drawn Hayrides to Mazes and a Spooky train ride.  Various prices apply.

Halloween Party at Castle Cantina, Leicester, MA

Castle Cantina is a lakefront tapas bar and wedding venue in Leicester, Massachusetts. 

The medieval style castle certainly looks the part and for Halloween 2022, they're hosting a party on Saturday 29th October. 

From 9pm until 1.30pm, their DJ will entertain guests whilst there'll be a Halloween contest and cash prizes on the night.

Castle of Chaos, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Voted one of America's Scariest Halloween Attractions” by the Travel Channel, the Castle of Chaos is a popular destination for Halloween fans and the great thing is, their spooky happenings start on the 9th September 2022. 

With a haunted house, escape rooms, Krusebel extreme haunt and much more, the scariness levels can be ratcheted up from 'Monsters be Gone' (where your glow wand will keep the monsters at bay) to 'Ultimate Hands-on Horror' (only for their most daring customers and 18+ only).  $25 entry with additional charges on weekends and to skip the line. Nemacolin (Bowman's) Castle, Brownsville, Pennsylvania

At Nemacolin Castle this Halloween, join a guided tour 'through the haunted halls and rooms of historic Nemacolin Castle'.  The historic Brownsville, PA property (described as the third oldest castle in America) will be welcoming guests on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm until 10pm for 1 hour tours commencing on 7th October and finishing on 29th October. 

With tickets starting at $15, 'Strange happenings, eerie sightings, unusual noises and lots of folklore' are all promised. Although there is no minimum age, they advised that parents with kids under 8 years of age be cautious and consider whether the event will be suitable.

Bettendorf Castle, Fox River Grove, Illinois

Halloween can be a bit too scary sometimes so the Bettendorf Castle (Fox River Grove, Illinois) Halloween Event might just be perfect for younger kids. A spectacular castle to visit at any time of year, their October 22nd 'Halloween Extravaganza' runs from 1pm to 3pm and consists of an Egghaunt & Costume Party.   

In addition to visiting the castle itself, younger guests will be excited to hear there'll be an appearance from characters of Royal Princess Parties together with some Superhero Training and an Egg Hunt on Castle Grounds with thousands of plastic eggs filled with toys and candy.
