Birdsell Castle in Charlestown, Indiana is a private residence which is also the host venue of the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire.
When advertised for sale in 2021, the castle was described as covering 2,700 sq ft with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The property has a huge courtyard – enclosed by its substantial, crenellated perimeter wall. This courtyard is the main setting for the renaissance faire held at the castle.
Set just across the river from Louisville, Kentucky the castle is also being renovated for a unique vacation destination.
Birdsell Castle is a Private Property. Other than the Renaissance Faire it is not open to the public.
